PM Imran Khan Announces Visa-on-arrival in Pakistan 2019 [Updated]

Finally, Pakistan has opened its door to people for tourists and investors from all over the world. Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad in a press conference told that 5 countries will be offered visa-on-arrival in Pakistan.

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan in the first phase of new visa policy has mentioned the following 5 countries.

  • Turkey
  • UAE
  • China
  • Malaysia
  • United Kingdom

The list of visa-on-arrival in Pakistan does not end here. Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad further told that another 45 countries will be added in the next phase. The people from the countries mentioned above can travel to Pakistan and can stay up to 30 days. Moreover, this decision by the government will positively effect visa-free countries for Pakistani citizens in the near future.

Visa-on-arrival in Pakistan

According to Chaudhry Fawad, “The basic aim is that we should not see Pakistan in the perspective of a security state and open the country for the world.”

He further told that the main reason behind the new visa scheme is to promote tourism in Pakistan and foreign trade.

Back in January 2019, the PTI government had made the decision to offer visa-on-arrival in Pakistan to 50 countries. Furthermore, it was decided that nearly 175 countries will be offered e-Visa to Pakistan.

He further said that “Tourists can visit anywhere in Pakistan and need no NOC (No Objection Certificate) anymore.”

In addition to this, the duration of student visa of Pakistan and Diplomatic visa is extended from 1 year to 3 years, respectively. On the other side, the duration for religious activity visa is still valid for 45 days.

With the introduction of the new visa policy of Pakistan, the tourists travelling in the form of group to Pakistan can now visit without any restrictions.
